Walmart files plans for a large Texas distribution center
Oct 30, 2026 · Supply Chain Dive

Supply Chain Dive reported on a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation document, dated 28 October, for a Walmart distribution center in Cibolo. The filing describes 744,433 square feet and an estimated $400 million investment, including office space, with groundbreaking in February and completion dated 1 August 2029.
The article notes Walmart’s broader automation of its distribution network and says the filing does not state whether this building will be automated. New square footage, automated or not, still becomes somebody’s night-shift route: motors, eyes, and the first fault after startup.
