DC Velocity reported on 16 September 2026 that Gartner’s supply chain practice described warehousing as having reached an inflection point for artificial intelligence. The drivers named in that report are labor constraints, financing that lowers the cost of entry, and technology mature enough to leave the lab.

The four trends in the report

Enhanced optimization uses live data for planning. Operational generative AI turns unstructured records into procedures and decision support. Suggestive and semi-autonomous agents recommend task assignments and exception handling while a person remains accountable. Physical AI covers robots that pick, pack, sort, and move material.

Faultline sits with the technician at the stopped equipment. They describe the symptom, and the device returns the next checks, the drawing, and a fix the following shift can use.
