Festo puts predictive analytics on drives, axes, and air cylinders
Feb 5, 2026 · Material Handling & Logistics

Material Handling & Logistics reported on 5 February 2026 that Festo introduced AX Motion Insights. The electric package monitors servo drives and electric axes. The pneumatic package monitors cylinders. AX Data Access is described as the layer that makes operational data available for analysis. The stated targets include conveyors, sortation, palletizers, gantries, and other material-handling equipment.
Deployment is offered on premises or in the cloud, so a building can match the tool to the IT rules it already has. This is the sensor side of maintenance: a trend while the asset is still running. It is useful when the signal represents the damage. A belt that walks off after a splice often has no such trend. That fault still starts with what the technician can see.
